What Is a Free Website Directory?
A website directory is a public list of websites with key details about each one. Old directories from the early 2000s were mostly built to collect backlinks, and many of them turned into link farms full of thin, spammy pages. This directory is built for a different job: helping website owners, bloggers and guest post buyers find each other quickly.
Every listing shows the numbers people actually look at before they reach out to a website: authority (DR) and monthly traffic. Buyers can compare sites side by side, open the ones they like and send a message without searching for a contact page. Owners get seen by people who are already looking for websites to work with.
Which Features Does the Directory Have?
How does the one-row listing work?
Each website gets exactly one row. On a desktop screen the row shows six columns: position number, website (favicon, name and domain), DR, traffic, opens and Contact. On a phone, each row turns into a small card so nothing is cut off or squeezed. Large traffic numbers are shortened for easy reading, so 1,500,000 shows as 1.5M and 120,000 shows as 120K. Hover over the traffic figure to see the exact number.
Why are all links nofollow?
Every website link in the list uses rel="nofollow" and opens in a new tab. We do this on purpose. Google says in its spam policies that “link spam is the practice of creating links to or from a site primarily for the purpose of manipulating search rankings,” and it names “low-quality directory or bookmark site links” as one example (Google Search Central, Spam policies).
Google also explains how site owners can qualify outbound links with the nofollow, ugc and sponsored values, and says links marked this way “will generally not be followed” (Google Search Central, Qualify your outbound links).
In simple words: this listing is for visibility, referral visitors and business contacts, not for passing ranking power. Nofollow links keep the directory safe for you and for us. A directory that hands out followed links to anyone who signs up is exactly the kind of site Google warns about.
How does the open counter work?
The Opens column shows how many times visitors have clicked your link from this page. It updates the moment someone opens your site, so you can watch real interest grow. To keep the number honest, the same visitor opening the same website again within 30 seconds counts only once. Repeated clicking cannot inflate a site’s count.
How does the Contact button protect your email?
When a visitor clicks Contact, a small form opens with three fields: name, email and message. The message is sent straight to the website owner’s email. The owner’s address is never printed on the page, so email-scraping bots cannot collect it. When you reply, your answer goes directly to the sender, because their email is set as the reply address.
Can visitors search and sort the list?
Yes. The search box finds websites by name or domain. The sort menu has four options:
- Highest DR: strongest backlink profiles first.
- Most Traffic: the biggest audiences first.
- Most Opened: the sites visitors open the most.
- Newest: the latest additions first.
What Do DR and Monthly Traffic Mean?
What is Domain Rating (DR)?
Domain Rating is a metric from the SEO tool Ahrefs. Ahrefs says DR “shows the strength of a website’s backlink profile compared to the others in our database” and uses “a 100-point scale” (Ahrefs Help Center). A higher number means a stronger link profile. DR is not a Google metric, and Google does not use it to rank pages. It is still the most common shortcut people use to compare websites quickly.
A rough guide many buyers use:
- DR 0 to 20: new or small websites.
- DR 21 to 50: growing websites with a decent link profile.
- DR 51 to 70: strong, established websites.
- DR 71 to 100: very large brands and publishers.
What counts as monthly traffic?
Monthly traffic is the number of visitors your website gets in one month. You can enter the figure from Google Analytics, or the organic traffic estimate from Ahrefs or Semrush. Please enter a plain whole number, for example 25000, not “25K” or “25,000+”. Use a recent figure, ideally from the last 30 days.
How do you check your DR and traffic before submitting?
Spend two minutes on this before you fill in the form, so your listing is accurate from day one:
- DR: open the free Ahrefs Website Authority Checker, enter your domain and note the Domain Rating it shows.
- Organic traffic estimate: use the free Ahrefs Traffic Checker or a Semrush domain overview. These tools estimate search traffic from rankings, so the number is an estimate, not an exact count.
- Real total traffic: in Google Analytics 4, open Reports, then Acquisition, set the date range to the last 30 days and note the total number of users.
- Pick one source and stay consistent. If your Analytics number is far higher than the tool estimate, that is normal, because Analytics also counts social, direct and referral visitors.
Whichever number you choose, buyers will usually check it in Ahrefs or Semrush before they reach out. Entering a realistic figure builds trust, and an inflated one costs you the deal.
How Is This Different From Old Web Directories?
Old-style directories were made for search engines, not for people. They charged for “permanent dofollow links,” accepted almost any website and grouped thousands of sites into thin category pages that nobody read. Google’s spam policies now list low-quality directory links as link spam, which is why most of those directories lost their value.
This directory works the other way around:
- It is made for people. Buyers see DR, traffic and real open counts, and they can contact owners in one click.
- It does not sell links. All links are nofollow and every listing is free.
- It filters risky niches. Loan, casino, gambling and adult websites are blocked before they reach the list.
- It shows real activity. The Opens column is public, so everyone can see which websites people actually visit.
How to Add Your Website to the Directory?
The whole process takes about one minute and has six fields. All of them are required.
- Website URL: the full address of your homepage, for example
https://example.com. - Website Name: your real site or brand name, for example “Example Blog”. Do not stuff keywords into the name.
- Domain Name: only the domain, without
https://,wwwor slashes, for exampleexample.com. This field fills itself from your URL, and it must match the URL. - Email: the address where you want to receive buyer messages. It stays private.
- Domain Rating (DR): a whole number from 0 to 100. Check your current DR in Ahrefs before you submit.
- Monthly Traffic: a whole number, for example 25000.
Click Submit Website. If everything is correct, you will see “Thank you! Your website has been added to the list,” and the page refreshes with your website in the list.
Why was my website not added?
The form checks every submission and tells you exactly what to fix. The most common reasons are:
- The domain name includes
https://or a slash. Enter onlyexample.com. - The domain name does not match the website URL.
- DR is above 100 or is not a whole number.
- The website is already in the directory. Each domain can be listed once.
- The domain, URL or name contains a blocked word, such as loan, casino, betting or adult terms.
- You reached the daily limit of 3 submissions from one connection. Try again after 24 hours.
What Are the Don’t Spam Rules?
This directory only stays useful if the list stays clean and honest. By submitting a website, you agree to these rules. Listings that break them are removed without notice, and we may block repeat offenders.
- Add only websites you own or manage. Do not list competitors, clients without permission or random sites.
- Enter real numbers. DR and traffic must match what Ahrefs, Semrush or your analytics show today. We spot-check listings, and fake or inflated numbers are corrected or removed.
- One listing per domain. Do not try to list the same website again with
www, a different page URL or a new name. - No restricted niches. Loan, payday lending, casino, betting, gambling, lottery and adult websites are not accepted.
- No keyword stuffing. Use your real website name, not a phrase like “Best Cheap SEO Guest Post Site 2026.”
- No fake opens. Do not click your own link again and again or use bots. The counter ignores repeat opens within 30 seconds, and abnormal patterns are reset.
- No spam messages. Use the Contact button only for real business enquiries. Mass, copy-paste or abusive messages are not allowed, and each visitor can send 10 messages per day at most.
- Safe websites only. Sites with malware, phishing, hacked pages, pirated content or misleading downloads are removed.
- Keep your site live. If your website goes offline, expires or redirects somewhere else, the listing may be removed.
Why Should You List Your Website Here?
A nofollow listing will not boost your rankings by itself, and anyone who promises that from a directory is not being honest with you. The real value comes from three things:
- Buyer visibility: people who visit this page are usually looking for websites for guest posts, sponsored content or partnerships. Your DR and traffic are shown upfront, so the right buyers can find you.
- Direct enquiries: the Contact button sends messages straight to your inbox, with no middleman.
- Referral visitors: every open is a real person landing on your website, and the counter shows you how many.
For SEO growth that does move rankings, the work happens on your own website: helpful content, a clean technical setup and quality, earned links. If you want expert help with that, see our link building services.
How Can Buyers Use This Directory?
If you are looking for websites for guest posts or collaborations, use the list in four steps:
- Sort by Highest DR or Most Traffic to shortlist strong websites.
- Open each site and check its content quality, niche and recent posts yourself.
- Verify DR and traffic in Ahrefs or Semrush, because owners enter these numbers themselves.
- Click Contact and send a short, clear message about what you want, your budget and your timeline.
